Van Riebeeckpark is a suburb of the Kempton Park municipality within Ekurhuleni. Most of the suburbs on this region of the east rand are centered around the industrial hubs of Isando, Olifantsfontein, Germiston and Jet Park which means most of the suburbs are in a general prime location.
The mixed property use of the suburb comprises freehold homes, sectional-title town houses and cluster homes which mean young and old small and large families will find a home to suit their needs and taste. Being a well-established middle class suburb does not mean the homes are all on the conventional scale of architecture. Many of the homes are newer in architectural design which further proves that the suburb is a stable investment prospect.
Property values, it can be said, are comparable to values in middle-class suburbs across Gauteng and thus being located on the East Rand has no negative bearing on the property values.
Demand is then for mostly for location and proximity to amenities like schools and malls. The other advantage of residing in Van Riebeeckpark is the proximity to the Gautrain Stations at either OR Tambo Airport or the Rhodesfield terminal meaning travel to suburbs like Sandton or Pretoria is more convenient than most other suburbs.
The other benefit to the suburb is that it is tranquil and the tree lined streets lend an air of wellness and community.
Here is a list of some of the schools servicing the suburb and neighboring suburbs, Hoerskool Jeugland, Laerskool van Riebeeckpark, Norkem Park High School, Edleen Primary School and Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld High School.
Malls close to the suburb are Elgin Mall, Festival Mall and Norkem Mall.
There are a few estates which have been constructed close to the suburb in recent years which is a good indication of the stability of the property market in the suburb and region.
Roads connecting the suburb to neighboring suburbs are Cr Swart Drive, Kelvin Street and Elgin Road.
