Trafalgar is located on the KZN South Coast. This is in fact a village and is geared towards holiday makers.
The village was named in honour of the Viscount Horatio Nelson that fought the Battle of Trafalgar in the 1800’s.
The village is located close to Margate but has, as yet not been developed to the point where beaches are crowded, this however is due to change as the demand for holiday property in the more remote locations of KZN’s coastline are increasing in demand.
The undisturbed nature is the perfect setting for a holiday home with the climate being a major factor driving the demand for property in the region of KZN.
The beaches are protected by shark nets thus it is safe for bathing and surfing which according to locals is a great place for this activity.
Attractions in and around Trafalgar will keep holiday tourists busy like San Lamer Golf Course, a visit to beaches like, Leisure and Palm Beach, Trafalgar Marine Reserve, Mpenjati Nature Reserve, Selsdon Park and Frederika Nature Reserve.
The property values in Trafalgar at present still reasonably affordable with vacant stands selling from between R220 000 to R950 000 and homes selling from the low R600 000 to above R1.2 million.
Due to the terraced landscape formed by natural protected dunes it makes for interesting architecture which thus adds to the property value in turn.
The region is ideal for deep sea fishing and snorkeling and nature exploration.
Towns close by are Ramsgate, Margate, Sanlameer, Southbroom and Glenmore.
Properties range from town house developments to free hold homes and buy-to-let townhouse property will be a sound investment prospect generating income and paying levies during the off peak seasons.
