The Stewards in Benoni is a little hamlet that can be defined as an upmarket residential suburb surrounded by commercial properties. What makes the suburb unique is its location and what is notable is the minimal intrusion of traffic noise which is mostly absorbed by the surrounding buildings.
The suburb is well-established and sales figures have been increasing steadily making it a positive long-term investment suburb.
The architecture of homes in the suburb is an archive of changing times and fashion. There are your typical conventional homes and progress to the modern and current architecture.
There are some secure estates like the Ascot Estate and the Racecourse View Estate that attract young professionals and sectional-title townhouse complexes and apartment complexes and cluster homes which means every type of property is catered for which is a contributing factor in the sales figures. From the property usage, one can glean some idea into the property values ranging from the mid R 500s op to the R million mark and then there are some commercial properties added into the fray. The Lakefield Enclosure is for the more affluent and as the name suggests the enclosure offers views over the Lakefield dam.
The suburb has access to the R21 north and south, the OR Thambo airport, the Gautrain terminal at the airport, industrial nodes namely Jet Park, Isando, Dunswart and Germiston. Then the R21 links up with the R24 and further to the N1 north to enter the commercial nodes in Sandton, Rivonia and Rosebank.
There are reputable schools nearby namely St Dunstans College, St Francis College and Rynfield Primary School.
The East Rand Mall is only a few minutes drive down North Rand Road the R21 R24 interchange also connects one to the East Gate Mall and other entertainment venues in Bedford View.
