Terenure is a suburb of the Ekurhuleni municipal district. The suburb has gained traction in the property market which is seen in the sales figures achieved for sales of homes. The east of Jo’burg, in general, has been experiencing a marked rise and there is no one determinative factor to ascribe this too but things factors that do have an impact are the prime location of suburbs like Terenure.
Terenure is a well-established residential suburb with a property usage consisting of freehold homes, townhouse complexes and apartment buildings. This also means that every income group and age group is catered for like first-time buyers, young single professionals, established families, executive income groups and investors in the rental market.
The architecture of the area has also kept trend with the market which further increases the appeal of Terenure as a residential address. To see a townhouse in the market with a price tag of R 1,5 mil is not uncommon and is indeed what townhouses across the property market are selling for. With the advent of estates, Terenure has benefited too as there are several residential estates and apartment complex estates that have driven property values to a point where there is no class distinction in the suburb.
The prime location of the suburb is a factor that one can consider when making a selection as Terenure is en-route to Allandale Road which connects to Midrand where there are commercial and industrial companies and then the suburb is in the heart of the East Rand industrial nodes of Isando, Jet Park, Boksburg, Commercial and Germiston.
For the executives in the commercial sector, Allandale Road connects to the N1 conveniently to reach destinations like Lonehill, Fourways, Bryanston, Rivonia and Sandton.
Schools servicing the suburb are Norkem Park Primary School, Norkem Park High School, Birchleigh Primary School, Hoerskool Jeugland and Edleen Laerskool.
Malls servicing the suburb are Kempton Gate Mall, Kempton Square.
