The East Rand or eastern region of Johannesburg is as is with any other suburb sustained by a predominant industry like the commercial sector or the industrial manufacturing sector.
Because of the enormity of the East Rand and the fact that it is sustained mostly by the industrial manufacturing sector means the demographic is varied. The region does have a smaller commercial sector though.

Property values suggest that the suburb is a middle-class income group suburb which is in today’s economic climate the prime market segment with a lot of movement which translates to sustained and stable growth in property values. The property market is in a bit of a slump but this has not affected this market so drastically.
Sunnyridge is the idyllic family oriented suburb with tree lined streets and a good mixture of period homes, conventional and some modern architectural homes.
The prime location of the suburb is most notable by its proximity to the major industrial hubs in Activia Park, Tunney Industrial, Isando and Knights which are all within easy access along the main and minor roads such as North Reef Road, Knights Road and Main Reef Road. Barbara Road connects with Meadowdale, Isando and Elandsfontein.
All the important amenities that form a self-sustaining suburb like schools and malls are in place and equally well-established.
