Strubenvale is a suburb of Springs which is actually part of the Ekurhuleni Municipality on the East Rand. A novel fact about the suburb is that it was laid out in the “Garden Cities” principle of having a park as the central point of the suburb and streets and homes being arranged in a ripple around the park.
Springs was begun firstly for farming and later with the discovery of gold and coal which lead to the start of the town and suburbs being established.
Today mining is not the mainstay for the region but due to foresight the town and region has diversified the various industries to cater for general engineering and manufacturing.
Strubenvale is a middle-class suburb with a mixed property use and diverse architecture which is both old and modern. This also leads to a varied pricing structure in the suburb with some of the older homes falling within the affordable category. Some of them are worth renovating as they still have high pressed ceilings and wooden floors. Do not be distracted by the general location of the suburb as it is actually central to all the important amenities needed to sustain suburbs. Remote location is a perception or a point on a map.
Clusters and townhouse complexes are in the upmarket scale and this segment caters for younger families, newly weds and single young executives.
Strubenvale is mostly sustained by the industrial sector as the town was established around mining and subsidiary industries to mining within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
For this reason there are a large number of industrial hubs near to Strubenvale and access to the hubs are convenient on the major roads around the suburb.
The rental market across the board enjoys high demand and that is due to the aesthetic appeal of the suburb and the proximity to the various amenities and most importantly the stable growth in property values.
