The town of Sabie is located within the Mpumalanga municipality North-East of Johannesburg and Pretoria at a distance of roughly 400 km or 4 hours’ drive which means it is not a remote location.
The town is sustained by three important industries namely forestry, agriculture and tourism with subsidiary industries catering for transport and light engineering.
Demand for property in the town is then related to employment with these industries. Property values are driven by these factors and are comparable to properties throughout Gauteng with the same percentage in growth of roughly 6% per annum.
Being located in the natural and man-made forests means many of the homes are rustic or have a modern spin on rustic appearance.
Property usage ranges from farms, guest houses, B&B’s, apartments, town houses and freehold homes and farms. These factors cater for the large income spectrum.
The rental market is as stable as towns across Gauteng with the same driving factors in those larger cities. There are also eco and lifestyle estates which is a good indication of the growth in the town and region and stability within the market.
The town is well-established which means all the important amenities like schools, commercial and industrial hubs are taken care of. The commercial hub may not be the same proportions as those of Johannesburg but it does sustain the need for income.
Here is a list of some of the more popular schools in and around Sabie, Harmony Hill Primary School, Laerskool Sabie and Hoerskool Sybrand van Niekerk.
Important to further note that town has expanded to the size it now is to justify expansion and having its own suburbs which is an added factor to indicate the strong market in the town.
The malls in Sabie are Riverside Mall and Rapid Falls Value Centre.
