Germiston is a town that was, like its neighbouring towns and suburbs established after the discovery of gold. When gold reserves were depleted many of the allied industries diversified into general engineering, manufacturing and engineering supplies. The core of the region still remains industrial manufacturing and supply.
Lambton Gardens is one of Germiston’s middle-class suburbs which have a good balanced mixed use property range consisting of freestanding homes, apartments and townhouses.
Being a middle-class suburb naturally means a large percentage of the market is catered for like the single persons and young couples and then established families.
The appeal of Lambton Gardens as a residential address is the fact that Wadeville is on the other side of the N17 so one can literally walk to the office.
Wadeville, which is a major industrial node, is home to large companies such as Mac Steel Trading, Adcock Ingram and Cobra Water Tech whom manufactures bathroom accessories and fittings.
Then the suburb has that same easy access to the major commercial nodes in Bedfordview, Sandton, Rivonia and Rosebank which are all accessed via the N17 which then branches to the N3.
The general architecture of homes in the suburb are more in the 70’s and 80’s end of the spectrum. The stands are of a fair size which is a testimony that this is truly a familial suburb. These larger stands are also excellent as there is loads of space to extend and improve existing homes with a limited risk of over-capitalising.
The prime location of the suburb is not only limited to commercial and industrial nodes; there are scores of schools nearby such as Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston, Laerskool Delville and Germiston South Primary School.
Finding a mall for retail and entertainment needs are a treat as one can roam around in Greenstone Mall, Eastgate Mall or Lambton Square.
