The
Outeniqua Mountain beckon in the distance setting a dramatic canvas
for prestigious middle to upper-class homes with the essence of the
Cape Dutch architectural designs visible in a more contemporary
fashion. A mixture of middle-class homes interspersed with
top-of-the-range prestigious homes creates a good balance for
property sales in this spectacular estate.
A
mixed-use also includes sectional title units continuing the
prestigious idea of the estate making it accessible to the lower end
of the middle-income group to own property in the estate.
The
central location of Kraaibosch within the George metro draws
permanent residents to reside in the estate but this is not the prime
attraction as factors like the Dutch architectural theme, the levels
of security and the fact that the estate is by nature exclusive are
its best attributes. George as a town is not vast thus prime location
is of little concern to residents.
The
second holiday home market has also affected sales in the estate as
is true for most coastal estates due to the status and the amenities
and tourist attractions on offer in any given region or town.
This
region of George seems to have been allocated to the well-heeled with
some exclusive retirement villages which have been developed too.
There
are well-heeled pensioners that have also taken up residency in the
estate as opposed to retirement villages for various financially
beneficial reasons and, naturally, the stunning communal gardens and
surroundings.
For
permanent residents, the need or demand for private schools has been
met along with reputable public schools which are within easy access
such as Glenwood House, Curro Castle George, St Mary’s Primary
School and York High School.
Malls
are situated close enough to Kraaibosch Country Estate to be very
convenient such as Garden Route Mall and Eden Meander.
