Houghton Estate is a well-established sought after suburb which is family oriented and inviting with its tree-lined streets, manicured gardens and palatial homes. The suburb is almost exclusively a residential suburb with freehold homes, clusters, apartments and townhouse complexes. There are however a few apartments that fall within the affordable category ranging from the mid R600 mark to above R750’s.
The list of benefits to living in Houghton Estate is endless. A high degree of demand, exclusivity, spacious homes and grounds, amenities and access roads leading to amenities are but a few of the benefits. The property values today keep trend with the market influences. The estate is access controlled and this factor also adds to the general property values and adds to the exclusivity of the suburb.
The architecture of the suburb is modern and there are some historical homes within the estate and in Houghton itself.
The other benefit of the suburbs prime location is the proximity to the myriad commercial hubs which are the foundation for the suburb and surrounding suburbs. The proximity to the Gautrain station in Sandton and Rosebank are the other benefit which should be capitalized on with the current congestion of the freeways in and out of the city.
It must be said that the access roads in the suburb do highlight the prime location even for commuting by car.
Like other suburb Houghton Estate does have schools catering for the education of the young with the benefit of being close to two of Johannesburg’s universities just for good measure.
