Highway Gardens on the East Rand is a well-established and sought after suburb primarily for its prime location as most of this region of Ekurhuleni relies heavily on the industrial supply and manufacturing as a source of sustainable income and then secondary is the commercial sector.
The suburb can be described as a middle class suburb which consists of freehold homes of which most are large and situated on equally large grounds. The architecture of the homes in the suburb is mostly conventional with a few homes that have had a facelift to reflect the more modern trends of today.
The suburb is neat and tidy and lends to a sense of pride and family with tranquil streets and manicured gardens.
Demand for homes in the suburb is high and this stems from the proximity to the hubs and of course access to the commercial hubs in Sandton, Rivonia and Bryanston.
The major highways that offer access to these commercial and industrial hubs are the R21, R24 interchanges, access to the N12 Freeway and the access to the N3 Freeway.
Industrial hubs directly accessible form the suburb is Meadowdale, Isandovale, Sebenza and Isando and there is no need to sit on congested freeways to reach these destinations.
The R21/ R24 interchanges offer access to the N3 and N1 freeways which link to Sandton, Bryanston, Rosebank and Rivonia with only a short distance to travel.
Another benefit to the suburb is the easy access to the OR Tambo airport.
Highway Gardens has access to a number of popular schools such as Edenglen High School, Edenglen Primary School, Dowerglen High School, and Edenvale High School.
Malls close to Highway Gardens are Eastgate Shopping Centre, Greenstone Mall, Kara Glen Shopping Centre and even the various malls in Rosebank and Sandton.
Access to Pretoria is also within easy access on the R21 freeway with only a 35 minute drive further highlighting the prime location of the suburb.
