Glendinningvale is an established middle-class, mixed-use residential suburb of Port Elizabeth. Apartments and sectional-title townhouses vie for the same buyers’ pool as sectional-title properties offer the same space and fittings and fixtures as freehold homes. Reputable private and public schools near to the suburb are Parsons Hill Primary School, Collegiate Girls High School, Grey High School, and The Hill College.
Malls catering for retail needs and commercial entertainment are Stanford Crossing, Greenacres Shopping Centre, The Atrium Centre, and Walmer Park Shopping Centre.
Uitenhage is a large industrial and commercial precinct that provides income to many residents in the suburb. Most of the automotive assembly plants are located in Uitenhage and these automotive assembly plants have given rise to commercial sectors and additional allied industries like light and heavy engineering and manufacturing of automotive components, foundries, and raw steel suppliers.
