Evaton was established in 1904 in the Emfuleni region.
The township has been expanding over the years and the infrastructure has been lacking due to various negative factors. There is however a program that has been launched to right the wrongs and afford residents the services similar to other suburbs.
Evaton residents are supported by the industrial areas around the township which is the core for sustaining the large community.
The re-development program for the township includes the establishment of small to medium size enterprises which will entail agriculture which will bring a sense of self sustaining micro economics in and around this the auxiliary industries, such as maintenance services for the agricultural industry and then the commercial aspect of managing the agricultural industry as a business.
