Erand is a fair new suburb of Midrand which can only be described as a large collection of exclusive lifestyle and security estates with more than thirteen estates to choose from and many more being developed or in the planning stages. Erand Gardens is the main suburb from which these estates have their origin.
It is safe to assume that Erand is middle upper-class to exclusive property market with a diverse property usage consisting of townhouses, apartments, cluster homes and commercial property.
Naturally, estates determine a higher than average property value and with the levels of demand for property in Erand Gardens these values will continue to increase making for a highly competitive buoyant property market and with the number of vacant stands in the various estates and the suburb in general affirms the fact.
The other factors which attracts a large portion of the buyer’s market within the younger executive generation is the modern architecture, the laid back lifestyle and the levels of security these estates offer and one could conclude that the noise pollution is above acceptable.
Then there are the various other commercial nodes which are within convenient access via the Gautrain rail system, the use of major highways and minor roads which are less congested. The N1 does connect to commercial nodes like Bryanston, Sandton, Rivonia and Centurion and then the industrial node in Midrand and further south to Isando and Germiston.
The number of recreational facilities, malls and schools has also increased to cater for the ever growing number of residents.
Schools catering for residents are some private and some government schools such as Summerhill International College, Halfway House Primary School, Midrand High School and Glen Austin High School.
The Lipizzaner’s are the most spectacular event which is synonymous with Midrand and then there is The Mall of Africa, Boulders Shopping Centre, San Ridge Square and Kyalami on Main Shopping Centre.
