Elarduspark was established on the farm Brakfontein by Rasmus Elardus Erasmus. This fact is evident in the names the suburbs in the region have, such as Erasmuskloof, Erasmia and Doornkloof.

The suburb is sought after today due to the stable property values, its proximity to other suburbs, amenities, schools and major roads which are all conveniently close on one of the many roads.

The architecture reflects the age of the suburb in some of the well maintained homes that are mixed with more modern homes, reasonably new townhouse complexes, schools and churches.

Elarduspark is close to Centurion and Pierre van Ryneveld Park. The suburb, which is conveniently close to the Irene Road and Nelmapius Road, also provides for a scenic road drive passing the Irene Golf Estate and Cornwall View.

Property values are stable and show good growth comparable to the market which is one of the factors driving demand for homes in this tranquil suburb which to some people is part of the old Pretoria East as opposed to Centurion.

There are a few good schools in and close to Elarduspark, including Laerskool Elarduspark, Hoërskool Waterkloof and Laerskool Constantiapark.

There are a great number of malls to choose from for retail needs. These malls include Cornwall View Shopping Center, Elarduspark Shopping Mall and Menlyn Park Mall which is conveniently close.

Elarduspark is close to the R21 highway and the R21 Business Park which is ideal for minimal travel to work.

Other major roads in close proximity are the Delmas Road, Solomon Mahlangu Drive, Boeing Street and the N1 highway via the Garsfontein Road on- and off ramps.

Other suburbs close to Elarduspark are Wingate Park, Waterkloof Ridge, Pierre van Ryneveld, Erasmuskloof and Rietvalleirand.
