The picturesque suburb of Eastleigh is part of the Edenvale municipality in Ekurhuleni. The suburb has its roots in the expansion of Edenvale during the early formative years centered on gold mining in the greater Johannesburg.
As the mining industry expanded there was a need for support to the needs of mine maintenance thus the largest industrial hub in South Africa was being established.

Major roads which highlight the prime location of the suburb are roads such as the R21/R24 highways, access to the N3 Eastern Bypass, Terrace Road and Edenvale Road.
The suburb also offer access to commercial hubs such as Sandton, Bryanston, Buccleuch and Rivonia on the N3 eastern Bypass which is not a great distance to travel to reach these destinations.
