The familial suburb of Birchleigh North is situated in the greater Ekurhuleni municipality. Most of the suburbs on the east rand are a matter of choice driven by convenience and status.
Birchleigh North is in a prime location in relation to major commercial and industrial hubs which are its primary source of sustainability and growth. Although Birchleigh North is fully developed the growth comes from sales in the suburb thus driving prices, demand and status.
The suburb is classified as a middle-class suburb with a mixed property usage which consists of freehold homes and townhouses.
A mixed architecture has brought with it a further appeal as many of the existing homes have over time been upgraded or alterations done to keep up with current market trends in architecture and interior finishings.
The newer homes have then had a base from which to work to reflect a more contemporary architecture.
A familial atmosphere starts with neatly maintained homes, tide sidewalks and manicured gardens which all contribute to the aesthetic appeal of Birchleigh North.
Other factors which make the suburb an appealing residential address is of course the great number of schools servicing the region of which all are within convenient access. The other appeal factor is the tranquillity of the suburb, removed from the hum-drum of the major industrial hubs in Isando, Olifantsfontein, Jet Park and Spartan.
Major roads which do however connect to these industrial hubs are the R25, easy access to the R21/R24. These major roads also offer access to Bedfordview and connect further with the M3 and N1 to reach Fourways, Sandton and Rivonia.
Here is a list of some of the public schools in and near to Birchleigh North; Norkem Park High School, Hoerskool Birchleigh, Norkem Park Primary School and Birch Acres Primary School.
The suburb has easy access to major malls such as Norkem Mall, Birchleigh North Mall and Birch Acres Mall.
