The suburb of Ashburton is located in KZN and can be described as a developing suburb with lots to offer in terms of property.
The mixed use of property in the suburb comprises commercial, industrial and residential property. Residential property comprises sectional-title and freehold homes with a varied pricing structure which caters for a large income group.
The location of the suburb is ideal as it is connected to towns Like Pietermaritzburg via major and minor roads like the N3 highway and a secondary road the R 103.
These two roads are important within the development of the commercial property market as these roads are major arterial routes connecting to towns like Durban to the harbour or north to towns like Johannesburg and Pretoria for freight transportation.
In the residential property market there is a mixture of affordable and upmarket homes meaning a large income group will find what they are looking for and there are small holdings and farms waiting to be snatched up at the same reasonable values. This does not mean the suburb is not worth a look it means the suburb is still expanding.
The region is also a tourist haven with many B&B’s and some of which are in the market which are worthwhile for entrepreneurs wanting to invest in the hospitality industry.
Of course the suburb will not function properly if the important amenities like schools and malls are not in place. Here is a list of some of the schools in the town, Scottsville Primary School, Gert Maritz Primary School and Maritzburg College to mention a few.
Here is a list of malls near to the suburb, The Malls at Scottsville, Liberty Midlands Mall and Northway Mall.
One other important factor not to be overlooked as an advantage to the town is the fact that the University Of Kwazulu-Natal-Pietermaritzburg Campus is located nearby.
This means the rental market is a viable option for investors.
