The suburb of Amsterdamhoek is located in the greater Port Elizabeth municipality. Residents describe the suburb as tranquil and even though it is only 10 minutes’ drive from the major centers.
The fact that the suburb is located on the banks of the Swartkops River and views of the sea and white beaches adds to the selling value of property in the suburb which comprises freehold homes and vacant stands and smallholdings. Property values are in keeping with any middle-class suburb across the Eastern Cape.
Being a middle-class suburb means there is a high degree of demand for property in the suburb which is in part due to the surroundings and its close proximity to amenities like schools malls, industrial and commercial hubs with the added benefit of being in a tourist rich region of the Eastern Cape.
The mixed architecture of the suburb comprises rustic and some older homes dating from the 1970’s, many of which have been modernized, are all mostly large family homes which translates to a community oriented suburb.
The number of vacant stands in the suburb is the ideal opportunity to build that dream home or holiday home in the “Friendly City” of Port Elizabeth.
The industrial hub of Port Elizabeth is centered on the automotive manufacturing sector and secondly tourism which means the suburb will continue to expanding to cater for both permanent and tourist market segments.
There are of course a number of popular schools close to the suburb such as Hoerskool Otto du Plessis, Bluewater Bay Primary School, Redhouse Primary School and New Brighton School.
Major roads that highlight the beneficial location of the suburb are the N2 north and east, Grahamstown Road and Amsterdamhoek Drive.
Malls close to the suburb are Cleary Park Shopping Centre, Green Acres Shopping Centre and N2 City Centre Shopping Centre.
