Doringbaai
is a suburb of the greater Strandfontein in the Western Cape. The
town is nestled between Strandfontein and Lambert’s Bay. One could
thus argue, it is the perfect place for a holiday home or for
families opting to live at the seaside then it is the perfect town.
One gets a sense that the town is almost ancient with some of the
architectural styles and structures in and around the town.
The
lighthouse is the beacon for seafarers but it also signifies the
town. Beaches are deserted and from good vantage points the annual
Southern Right whale watching instils a humbling emotion from such
majestic animals that is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The whales
come to the bay to calve and spend from May to November trolling the
water for the rich plankton. For nature lovers, the winter months
offer flower lovers spectacular tapestries of indigenous flowers
growing freely in the fields.
It is as though time has
stood still in what was once a fishing village. This fact alone will
attract pensioners seeking peace and tranquillity in the remaining
years.
For executives or business people that
are not office bound the village is the perfect place to draw
inspiration from
The property market is fairly
stable which does make it an opportunity to build a dream home that
can be custom-built to suit every need in style, architecture and
finishings and fittings. The market will catch up to the investment
value once the town becomes more familiar attracting more property
investors and who knows, we may see a boutique estate, hotel, and
lifestyle estate with a 19-hole golf course.
