Vaaloewer could be mistaken to be a resort but it is in fact a residential suburb with a large number of permanent residents and then there are the well-heeled that make use of the property as weekend getaways. At a short or long 45 minute drive from Johannesburg Vaaloewer is not really as remote as one would perceive and this is also one of the reasons many residents prefer the distance from major hum drum large cities.
