The Stone Cottage has a rich history. The stand was purchased by Dr Michael Girdwood in 1936 and construction on the house started soon thereafter. The windows and exterior doors are Burmese teak and the floors and interior doors are Oregon pine which were all imported from England at the time. The stone on site
