Louis Botha Avenue is a landmark street in the central north of Johannesburg. It connects numerous suburbs from one end to the other.

Needless to say, the road leads to a gated community in a small leafy suburb of Mountain View. Here the well-heeled professionals have taken up residency. Homes are a mixture of contemporary modern, sophisticated architectural designed homes, period styled homes and a few classic contemporary homes. Naturally, the only way to describe the homes is exquisite and opulent in every way with homes finished with imported fittings and fixtures and landscaped lush green gardens and infinity pools.

The property values are high with the lowest priced property in the region of R 3 mil and then there is no limit to the top-priced properties. The number of properties on the market at any given time is limited which is mainly due to the high prices but then the homeowners tend to stay in the suburb.

There is no shortage of prestigious schools close to the suburb like Sacred Heart College, Athlone Girls High School, Linksfield Primary School and King Edward VII Boys High School.

All the exclusive entertainment venues and malls are on the doorstep. One can venture to the Victory Theatre on Louis Botha Avenue, where amongst other entertainment there are traditional tribal dances and good food and winery, The Zone@Rosebank, Rosebank Mall, Melrose Arch and further down Louis Botha Avenue there are boutique restaurants and pubs with a rustic sidewalk setting.

Being in the heart of central-northern Johannesburg means all the commercial nodes are a short drive away like Rivonia, Rosebank, Houghton, Dunkeld, Sandton and Hyde Park.

The major highways connecting the suburb to surrounding suburbs and towns are up Louis Botha Avenue on to the R25 and then the R21 or N1 north and south.
