Georginia is a charming mixed-use residential suburb of the greater Roodepoort. One gets a sense that the suburb is tranquil and the general state of homes indicate pride in the residents. Neatly manicured, tree-lined sidewalks leaves the impression of family values of residents.

The mixed-use of properties in the suburb consists of freehold homes, sectional-title townhouse complexes and sectional-title apartment complexes. These three usages have created a platform that will attract a broad income demographic and age from young couples, bachelors, pensioners and established families.

The architectural style of properties is a registry of development and fashion changes with styles dating back to the founding of the suburb to modern contemporary styles.

Age is not a specific factor determining which demographic invests in a specific type of property. The property in the suburb is priced in the middle-class which is where the most sales are generally seen.

Being a well-established suburb means all the major infrastructure is established like schools, malls, roads and municipal services.

Schools offering education to children in the suburb are UNISA Florida Campus, The King’s School Discovery, Hoerskool Roodepoort, Beulah Independent Private Primary School and Queens Park School.

Malls that cater for retail needs and commercial entertainment are Florida Junction Shopping Centre, Westgate Shopping Mall, Clearwater Mall, Summit City Mall and Princess Crossing Shopping Mall.

Major industrial precincts close to the suburb are Manufacta, Chamdor, Factoria and Olivanna.

Major roads connecting the suburb to the various precincts are Albertina Sisulu Street and Kilburn Street. For residents employed in the north of Johannesburg’s commercial precincts generally travel along Albertina Sisulu Road and then onto the NI Western Bypass which meets up with Witkoppen Road.
